As a child my mom would have us start our handmade Christmas gifts pretty early in the year so that we could have them completed in time. For mom, summertime was the perfect opportunity for her to have us begin our gift projects. Mom was a teacher and come September she would be back to work.

For a typical homemade Christmas tree ornament, require five craft sticks of normal size, a colorful ribbon, scissors, a big craft stick, a brush for the purpose of painting, a white craft glue, craft paints which are green and brown in color, a gold chenille stem, a silver chenille stem and colored sequins.
